@chirag_sharma2 - This is expected behavior.  A default connection on the Beacon brings in the Active Directory information from the Domain the Beacon is installed on, and additional domains can be added for extraction on the beacon.  Things brings in Sites/Subnets, Users and Computer Accounts from Active Directory into FNMS.  The Sites and Subnets can be used as targets for Discovery, and Users are required to bring in data from Inventory Sources.

Hi,

But I have disbaled the AD connection and it is is not running anymore.

I am surprised to see why inventory import is gathering such data if AD is not running

@chirag_sharma2  - Ahh!  Then it is simply re-processing the AD information that has already been collected.

Hi @kclausen

I would have accepted this but I see the following lines in the logs - which says it is adding users too--my question is how inventory import is creating user records ?

@chirag_sharma2 :

These users may have come in from a different source such as SCCM or the FlexNet Agent.  The section of the Log File you sent is where it is consolidating users from all sources (AD, SCCM, FlexNet Agent, O365, etc.)

The important bit is this section of the Log from your first post that is showing that no new users from Active Directory were imported.

Hi @kclausen

Yes, we have a running Flexnet Agent, So it means it can bring Users data along with Inventory ?

Yes, that is correct.  User information is critical to capture as many license entitlements have a User-Based licensing metric.

@kclausen

Do you think, Stopping AD can restrict our Inventories to enter FNMS ?
Next,  Is it going to put any affect on our inventory ?
