VCEnter Discover and Inventory rule / Task type

What does this message indicate for a vcenter rule and task type Inventory etc. ? 

Discovery shows that this device is a Windows or a UNIX device but the rule 'vCenter Production' does not allow for inventory gathering

This message indicates that regular device inventory will not be collected because only the VMware inventory process is enabled.
