Users from AD vs from Custom AD Adapter

Hello

One of our customers running FNMS 2020R2 and the regular AD import (created for a particular domain - domain1.com)  brought in 208 users (in All Users page in FNMS).

We have created successfully a custom AD adapter to bring in employee number as well but the user count it retrieves through LDAP query are 132 only.

It is the same case with few other domains as well where the user count from regular AD import is different from the user count coming from custom AD adapter via LDAP.

Also, while most of the users details are matching from both imports , there are a number of users which doesn't exist in other import

Any thoughts around this?

Hi @ImIronMan,

have you tried comparing the users data extracted via csv import from both AD and LDAP and see if there is a difference or is it giving the same result?

Hi @ImIronMan ,

can you check if the all the 208 users getting imported from AD have employee numbers. I think you tried to import the users only with Employee numbers using your custom adapter and i guess that's where its giving a difference.

Hi @winvarma

Thanks for your quick response

We have used the LDAP filter - ( &(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user)(!(userAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)) )

to match with FNMS default AD import filter (well, hoping so) assuming both imports brings the same data.

Also, even the above LDAP query out put has users with out employee numbers as well
