Uninstall evidence on RHEL

I have a number of applications reporting as installed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. When I look at the evidence on a device it is reported as "uninstall". I saw an article explaining uninstall evidence but that related specifically to Windows. Where is this evidence coming from on RHEL?

thanks

Hi,

"Uninstall" usually refers to package managers on linux. For RHEL it shoudl be the Red Hat Package Manager, or RPM for short. On different flavours of Linux there might be different package managers.

Thanks. So if I see only uninstall evidence against an application, is it safe to assume that the application has been partially uninstalled and rpm is still seeing some evidence?

Hi,

Yeah, that could be one reason. So what exactly makes you think the application shouldn't be there anymore?

Best regards,

Markward
