Oracle Application User License Type

From reading the Oracle practice guide, it appears that the only Oracle Application User license that correctly shows consumption is E-Business suite application/components.  The practice guide was published in 2018, so is that still correct or should other applications (Hyperion Financial Management Plus, Hyperion Enterpise Planning Suite, etc...) now work with Oracle Application User license metric type work now?  If no, is the only option custom metrics?  Thanks!

@pwveen - There is not an easy way for an inventory tool to determine how many users have access to a server application, such as an Oracle Middleware product.  Flexera can provide the following assistance:

1 - Show you the installs of Oracle Middleware by version and edition
2 - Automatically calculate consumption if the entitlement is for Oracle Processor
3 - For Oracle Application User or Named User Plus, correctly calculate the "Minimum Number of Users" per processor core

For those installs of Oracle Middleware that are consumed by App User/NUP, you need to work with the system administrators of those products to get counts of user access across each instance.  You can then manually enter this number into the License.  During Reconciliation, Flexera will then compare this number against the calculated "Minimum Users Per Core" across the servers.  License consumption will be set to whichever of these 2 values is greater.

HI @pwveen.

If you/your customer has purchased the Hyperion product with a financial metric, then you should use custom metric on FNMS.  I have customers who have also purchased it on the NUP Metric.  That you can configure on FNMS, but not measure with FNMS, so you need to resort to enetring the "Additional bulk user count.

Additionally, I find it good practice to configure additional infrastructure licenses.  These licenses eg Essbase Servers (Infrastructure) can be configured to ensure all installations related to this license are consumed from teh environment, there by cleaning up any unlicensed installs.  The attached document from teh Oracle site will help with teh configuration of teh infrastructure licenses.
