Inventory of .JAR files using Flexera Agent

Is there a way to get the Flexera Agent to pick up .JAR files? We are trying to determine which servers have a certain .JAR file. We don't have SCCM on our servers, only the Flexera agent.

I searched the file evidence but didn't find any .JAR files.

Erick:

We don't capture .JAR files due to the sheer volume of data that would be pulled in that would significantly increase the size of each NDI file, and the rows of data it would generated in the File Evidence in your DB, increase the time of your nightly reconciles, etc.

If you search in the community there was a lot of activity when the LOG4J vulnerability was announced.  There was instructions on how to configure agents to capture a specific .JAR file name - rather than simply pulling in every single .JAR file.

Hi @EHacking

Do you have a Flexera Cloud or On Prem instance?

If it's Cloud, an Idea has been raised to fix this issue. If you are On-Prem then you are able to make the necessary changes on the agent and backend SQL db as detailed here >  https://flexerasfdc.ideas.aha.io/ideas/ITAM-I-170
