I stumbled into that one Hyper-V implementation in our organisation has virtual machines with non unique serial numbers / UUID. I know it's working with the agents since not all servers has the issue and we have the agent on both host and guest OS.
As I understood how it's working, it's getting from the host a list of serial numbers or UUID's for the guests which is then matched with the guest inventory.
If the serial number/uuid is not unique it will fail the link between host/guest. Is it possible to match on other attributes for the Hyper-V inventory? or are the only way to wait until they generate new SN/UUID on the guests?
