How can you check the Oracle LMS version and is Flexera using the latest availlable LMS scripts

My understanding is that the LMS script usage is updated via the ARL release process, as opposed to standard product releases - as such, so long as 2018R1/R2/2019R1 are up to date with the ARL, they should be using the most recent LMS script version. According to Oracle there are more recent versions 19.1 available. How can you check the LMS version in use? Since inventory settings.xml is encrypted Is there a manual way to update these scripts? When is a newer version expected from Flexera? How do you know if a new agent upgrade is required or not? Thanks and Regards Ronald

Hi Ronald,
Your understanding is correct, Oracle LMS scripts are deployed through ARL update automatically. From FlexNet Manager Suite 2019 R1 customer can choose when to enable deployment of latest Oracle scripts to collect oracle inventory. Oracle LMS script cannot be updated manually but only by ARL update, scripts need to be validated and signed by FLEXERA. LMS script in use version can be found through FlexNet Manager Suite WebUI, by opening the the inventoried Oracle instance properties, Attribute tab should have attribute name "LMS_DETAIL_RL_SCRIPT_VERSION" and value will shows version of LMS script in use. Current version in use is 17.2. When LMS script updated by FLEXERA, details will be communicated to all the customers, LMS update does not require inventory agent upgrade as they are backward compatible. I will follow on the availability of LMS script version 19.1 and get back to you!

Hi Ronald, Yes There is ReviewLite script out, versioned 19.1. From initial feedback, It includes cosmetic changes, nothing deleted, no enhancement and no new SQL added. We are in process of analysing the changes, aiming to include new version 19.1 of Oracle LMS script in 2019 Q3/Q4 and delivered through ARL update. Regards! Aamer
