Re: Flexera Launch Error_Content Blocked

Jump to solution

Hi @kclausen ,

1. We have recently validated that the service account (i.e. svc-flexnet) which is in use, has been provided with GRANT EXECUTE privileges.

Are you referring to that the service account also needs to have full DB-OWNER role? Becqause as per the installing guide/document provided by flexera, it was mentioned that "svc-flexnet" is required to have db_ddladmin, db_datawriter and db_datareader. Optionally, in a less stringent environment DB-OWNER  role can be provided.

So, we have followed the same approach and got db_ddladmin, db_datawriter and db_datareader privileges assigned to the account because of security risks and concerns. If you can help us to understand/identify why we are getting this error.

2. Also, if you can assist us with another stuff i.e. we would like to reinstall and reconfigure the Application on the App Server. So, while running Powershell scripts during configuration steps we are no longer getting the very first pop-up for DB configuration form (DB name, hostname/instances are being provided). System is automatically skipping the first pop-up and coming with the second or following ones (i.e. Application Pool, Web API Pool window).

If you can let us know how to get that option. We can give it a try bt reconfiguring the app.

Thanks & regards,

Sourav

The error message from the Batch Processor log file clearly states that whatever AD Account is running the Batch Processor that when trying to execute the stored procedure named "ComplianceSettingGetBySettingName" that it does not have permission to execute it.  This error is being returned by SQL Server.

Are you sure that the two FlexNet Manager Suite Batch Process services are running as the Service Account?

If you run this command it will allow you fully reconfigure fnms via the powershell scripts.
.\Config.ps1 "Config\FNMS Windows Authentication Config.xml" forceUpdateConfig

Hi @mgunnels ,

Thank you! We are now able to get the pop-up windows we were looking for.

Thank you! :)

Hi @kclausen ,

We have today provided "db_owner" privilege to the AD account: "svc-flexnet".

After that we have reinstalled and reconfigured the application according to the process. We were not prompted with any error. However, we are still not able to launch Flexera (through Internet Explorer).

We have gone to below directory, however we are not able to find any log files as well

C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\Compliance\Logging\BatchProcessTask

C:\ProgramData\Flexera Software\Compliance\Logging\BatchProcessScheduler

However, the above paths have notepads inside. Attaching the same in this mail, if that may help you to understand where the problem is lying currently.

Thanks & regards,

Sourav
