Does anyone have experience configuring the FlexNet Beacons and Inventory Agents to work with a NetScaler URL as the communication point for FlexNet inventory file uploads?
The desired scenario consists of inventory traffic being sent to the NetScaler URL which then forwards the traffic to our two Beacon servers. We have been attempting to get this to work and it does to a degree. The FlexNet Inventory Agent installation package has been configured in the mgssetup.ini file to define the DEPLOYSERVERURL. Viewing the installation.log we do see it communicating to that URL and successfully downloading the policy. Reviewing the regkeys for the defined Download Settings we see the netscaler URL as being the Bootstrap Server 1 with the Beacon servers themselves listed also. However, the Upload Settings are only being set to the Beacon servers directly. We need the agent to point to the NetScaler connection since our internal policy requires all web traffic to go through the NetScaler. Making changes to policy is overwritten during the next policy update.
