Beacon to Tanium connection failure

The Tanium connection was set up in the beacon as documented in the  "Inventory Adapters and Connectors Reference" guide, but after conducting a test connection we received the following error:

"The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel."

is SSL/TLS required for this connection?

if so, what documentation should I follow to accomplish this?

Hi,

I haven't worked with Tanium yet, but I guess there is some URL/server address you're connecting to? If it is https, there should be SSL/TLS involved. Whether it's needed depends on the server's configuration, you're getting the data from (source).

Best regards,

Markward

Hi,

TLS is not required for the connection to work. It looks like TLS is enabled on the Tanium end. Could you try disabling it and checking if test connection works? I see this Tanium web page has points mentioned to enable/disable TLS: https://docs.tanium.com/platform_deployment_reference/platform_deployment_reference/tls.html

Also, which is the version of Tanium Server being used - 7.3 or 7.4?
