We are working with a state agency that is using a VMware environment that is shared by multiple agencies. We are unable to obtain the necessary access to those vCenter instances to create the vCenter job to import cluster->host-> and guest relationships.
As this is critical data to perform effective SAM does anyone know of an alternative to importing that data into FNMS? e.g. file dump from vCenter and BA to import.
Thanks

Hi Craig,
FNMS supports upload of inventory via CSV/XLSX and has templates for the Cluster/Pool/Host/VM relationships as well as specifying cluster and host affinity rules. So that might be one option - though there would be a reasonable amount of work involved in establishing a process to extract data from that landscape and generating the CSV/XLS files for import.
Here is the area in FNMS to manage direct upload to FNMS manually (there is also an option to have beacons collect and process the set of files from a nominated directory):

Here is the set of templates provided:

Hi,
If the files are delivered automatically and you also want to automate the import, a business import would be the way to go. I think this is only going to work on-prem, because you'll need to do some database magic.
Also to consider: Is there already another data source holding this information, you can consume from more easily? Such data source could be a CMDB.
Best regards,
