AgentID in AWSImage

Hi,

Assuming you're creating an Image for AWS cloud OS's, including Flexnet Agent (talking about Linux here) and one wants to offer this to customers.

If you once create this Image and it is getting ordered by other customers, the AgentID will stay the same as in the initial Image. Thus, it will bring no results to the Server or flipping results which cannot be associated to the correct machine, hence, it is not there.

Is there a possibility to re-create the AgentID beforehand the Scan on a new deployed Image?

Is AgentID hardcoded during installation/creation of an AWSImage?
Is user/admin able to change this ID afterwards?
If yes, how to do?

Our Idea is, to clear AgentID-String (whereever it is written) before a "new" Image is started or deployed.

Ideas?

AgentID is determined during the Agent Installation process.  It is not recommended to have an actual installed agent as part of your ASW Server templates as the AgentID has already been set.

The recommended approach is to have the agent install package in the server template with a preconfigured setup file (mgsft_rollout_response for Linux and MSGSETUP.INI for Windows).  Then, when a new EC2 instance is launched with that template, as part of the start up process, the agent installation package is launched after the OS has been booted.  That way, the new instance will receive an agent with a unique Agent ID.
