The Application Recognition Library (ARL) #2433, released on July 1st, 2019 contains an error affecting the following Oracle applications.

  • Oracle Database 11g R1 Enterprise
  • Oracle Database 11g R1 Enterprise
  • Oracle Database 12c R1 Enterprise
  • Oracle Database 12c R1 Standard
  • Oracle Database 12c R1 Standard Edition 2
  • Oracle Database 12c R2 Enterprise

Applying ARL #2438 or later will rectify this issue.

If you are using ARL #2433, you will experience erroneous consumption counts for these applications if you have applied this update to your on-premises installation of FlexNet Manager Suite. 

The production environments of FlexNet Manager Suite cloud were not affected by this error.

Note this does not just affect Oracle applications but also license recognition rules for ODBEE  causing an incorrect but drastic spike in Oracle Processor detected

That statement applies to the Enterprise applications only

A new ARL with build #2438 is available on PLC. This build has the required fix for Oracle Database titles and its related Oracle options.

We also found a false/positive reporting of installs around Oracle Database 11gR1 Personal edition that do not appear in the newer ARL 2438.
