Problem when activating an FNE application when running VPN GlobalProtect
Hi there, One of our users has reported the following issue with our FNE enabled 32-bit ChemDraw product, running on Windows 10 64-bit, linked with: flexnet_client-xt-c-i86_windows-2017.02.0 and VPN 'GlobalProtect': https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/products/globalprotect They: - start the VPN - run ChemDraw and activate - this works fine - stop the VPN - run ChemDraw: BUG: Activation Error System machine type does not match machine type. Expected behavior: ChemDraw runs with or without VPN, as it does with other VPNs.
The HostID reported with and without the VPN are the same as each other. I checked the FNO live system for this Host ID and it had for the device: VirtualizationAmazon EC2 Virtualization Details VirtualMachineName so it appears that with VPN started, Flexera is considering the machine to be virtual.
Can Flexera confirm if this is a known bug? Is there already a fix or workaround? If not, can it be please be considered for a future fix.
