Symptoms
The license service web application relies on a non-FIPS conforming encryption standard.
Cause
If FIPS is enabled in your system, the operating system will prevent the use of such encrytion algorithms. This will prevent the license service from being able to deliver license information to the applications querying it.
Resolution
You can only disable the use of FIPS-compliant algorithms by editing the registry.
- Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
- Locate and click the following key in the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\FipsAlgorithmPolicy] - Edit the following registry value:
Value name: Enabled
Data type : REG_DWORD
Value : 0 - Quit Registry Editor
Please note, this setting may also be set using Group Policy Settings inherited from your domain. If the registry changes do not persist on your machine, please contact your system administrator to disable this setting for the affected machine.
