When upgrading App Portal, an ?RPC Server is unavailable? Error may be encountered when running the upgrader executable.
Upgrading Database
Connection opened for upgrade
Error Encountered: The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)
Cause
App Portal makes a WMI call to the SCCM server and if a firewall blocks the WMI call, the error ?RPC Server is unavailable? will be encountered.
Resolution
To resolve the issue enable WMI/RPC ports on the network Firewall.
