If a category name has special characters such as "/", ",", App Portal splits the category name with these special characters so unexpected extra category will be created.
As a workaround:
1. please don't use special characters while creating a category
2. or in case the special character is necessary in the name then - in place of creating catalog using "New Catalog item wizard" create catalog directly using Admin -> Catalog Management -> Create New Catalog Item -> New General Catalog Item.
