On occasion, approval emails may no longer get sent by App Portal. Log files do not indicate the cause of the issue.


Even though a request was submitted which required approval, no approval emails are sent to approvers for the request in App Portal.


Every 30 seconds, the ESD service should "wake up" and check for any new requests which require approval. In the event that one or more requests are found, App Portal will set flag is to indicate that this approval email process is running. When the process completes, and emails have been sent, the flag should then be unset. Occasionally, this flag may not be unset, thus the approval email process will not start again.


Restarting the ESD Service will unset the flag, allowing the approval email process to be started again.
