Yes, pretty horrible error message.. Seemed to imply that there were questions associated with the catatlog item, in which case you should not have been able to use "install now".. As the issue was apparently tied to the "out of office" flag, it must have ultimately had something to do with approvals.. Anyways, thanks for letting everyone know the solution!
