This article will explain how to get back to the online activation method when stuck in the offline activation method.
Synopsis
How has this occurred?
If the online activation of your licence has failed then you may have proceeded with the offline activation method. In doing this you may have noticed that there is no way to return to the online activation method.
Workaround
Resolution Steps
Before following the steps below, please make sure that any InstallShield/AdminStudio related programs are closed.
- Open your start menu and type Regedit
- Right click Regedit and 'Run as Administrator'
- Once opened, navigate to the following registry location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\InstallShield\(i.e. AdminStudio, 23.0, 22.0, etc.)
- Change the value of the OfflineTransactionPending key to 0 then close Regedit (alternatively you can remove the OfflineTransactionPending key)
- Open InstallShield/AdminStudio and the activation wizard should now be shown in the online activation method
