Summary

Symptoms

Automated Application Converter (AAC) hangs, becomes unresponsive and times out with error 4430. The output in the GUI expected to indicate:
[Host System - (none)] Processing packages...
[Host System - Your Installer] Repackaging is required for unspecified reasons.
[MachineName - (none)] Using virtual machine MachineName
[Host System - (none)] Packaging and Virtualizing packages...
[MachineName - Your Installer] Error 4430 controlling virtual machine: Failed to get IP address of VM: 0x80004005 (LE:0000 XE:0000 in CVirtualMachineController::Connect:182)
[Host System - (none)] Failure processing packages.
[Host System - (none)] Done virtualizing packages


Cause

Windows 2008 R2 Hyper-V Host Server running Windows 10 guest OS. This OS version of Windows Server does not support running a Windows 10 guest. Microsoft artcile indicates:

"Windows 10 can run as a guest operating system on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V hosts."

Resolution

Use a different Hyper-V host server. Windows 8.1 or Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V environment is expected to allow a Windows 10 guest to use AAC.
