Connecting With Adminstudio Via Enterprise Server Tab

Synopsis

Connecting to Adminstudio through the Enterprise Server Tab has certain requirements depending on the type of Authentication used.

Discussion

If selecting to connect with "AdminStudio Enterprise Server User" or a domain listed under Authentication, the AES\WFM Service Account used must have access to the SQL database.

To further elaborate: The Identity used for the WFM/AES Application Pool must have access to the SQL Database for AES\WFM to work correctly. And if the Service Account specified from the config.exe tool(lcoated in C:\<AdminStudioWebComponents>\Support\Config\ directory) is different from the Apppool Identity, the Service Account will also need permissions to the SQL Database.

If selecting to connect with "Windows Authentication" then the Website Level Authentication in IIS should be set to "Windows Authentication".

The Authentication.asmx page under the Webservicesroot folder shown in IIS should also be set to "Anonymous Authentication".

*Do not set the entire Webservicesroot folder to "Anonymous Authentication" as this can break integration with AppPortal.*
