Installation of Adminstudio 8.5 Fails : Error 1609

Hi,
I just recieved my new AdminStudio SE 8.5 disk and started to install.
When the installer is writing system registry values i get an error 1609.
"An error occured while applying security settings. Authenticated User is not a valid user or group......"


I get this on all computers i have tryed to install on - a windows2003 (sp1) and also on XP Sp2 (Swedish).

Any clues??

Hi Jonas,

I am, also getting same error as I start installation on Windows XP(German / English Version).

We have developed installer using IS 11.5(Windows) in InstallscriptMSI project.

Error 1609
An error occurred while applying security settings. User is not a valid
user or group. This could be a problem with the package, or a problem
connecting to a domain controller on the network.

I searched through different forums regarding error but still not able to reproduce same problem on our machines and also sources for this issue.
So, Can you tell me something about it ?

Look in permission table of the MSI, remove this permission and you will be fine.
