When I'm launching Admin Studio 2016, I encounter a problem that it shows "AdminStudio has stopped working" prompt. I have checked in eventviewer logs for more details of the issue but not much details are available.
In the 'AdminStudio Shared' folder under Program files, there should be a 'Shared AdminStudio.ini' file. It should have a Database or Default Database key. If it has any values, can you clear the value and then save the file again? Check if this helps in resolving the issue.
Other thing you can check is if the FIPS policy is enabled on the machine? The policy needs to be disabled in order for AS to work properly.
