I know that my response isn't the answer you're looking for, but I'm right now involved with a colleague from Flexera Professional Services in creating a lesson for the Learning Center that will include guidance as well as generic PowerShell scripts that will easier facilitate creation of custom FOSM integrations. My personal current ETA for this lesson to become available would be late March...
