What is Oracle Fusion Middleware (OracleFMW) evidence?
Oracle Fusion Middleware (OracleFMW) evidence helps identify Oracle Fusion Middleware deployments and collect information that supports Oracle inventory and licensing analysis.
This article explains what OracleFMW evidence contains and why different OracleFMW evidence types may appear for different devices.
What information does OracleFMW evidence collect?
OracleFMW evidence collects additional hardware information, files present on a device, and processes running on the target system.
Oracle's verification program provides the list of files and processes collected. The specific files and processes used for verification are not disclosed.
OracleFMW evidence types
OracleFMW evidence may include the following data types:
- CPUQ - Hardware information collected for devices running Oracle software.
- FMW - Copies of selected configuration and log files, along with the output of the opmnctl command when available.
- Logs - Information about selected running processes and associated process parameters.
Why do some devices show different OracleFMW evidence?
Not all devices contain all OracleFMW evidence types.
Devices with OracleFMW evidence typically contain CPUQ data. FMW and Logs evidence only appear when the required files or processes exist on the device.
Additional information
The lists of OracleFMW files and processes are encrypted within the InventorySettings.xml configuration used by the inventory agent.
Oracle updates these file and process definitions through Application Recognition Library (ARL) updates.
