Unable to Delete Release Directory

How to delete the Release Directory when Windows states the directory is currently in use

Synopsis

When attempting to delete the directory containing the release, Windows states it is unable to remove the directory as it is currently in use.

Discussion

Commonly, you are unable to delete the release if the installation is running or if the Disk1 location of the setup is open in Windows Explorer. Ensure both are closed and try to remove the directory.
If the behavior persists please try the following:

Close InstallShield and attempt to delete the directory
Moving the directory to an alternative location and delete the directory
Check to see if the cidaemon.exe process is running
- This is Microsoft Indexing Service and can potentially lock several files in the release location
- close the process and delete the directory
