Archive IBM license consumption reports for audit compliance
IBM requires that processor value unit (PVU) and virtual processor core (VPC) license consumption data be available for audit for a minimum of two years. While FlexNet Manager Suite and Flexera One IT Asset Management (ITAM) retain data for only 180 days by default, you can meet this requirement by saving and archiving reports during every reporting period.
Archive IBM PVU/VPC reports
- In FlexNet Manager Suite, navigate to the top menu and click Reports.
- Go to the License Compliance tab. Under Licenses, locate and select the IBM PVU License Consumption report or the IBM VPC License Consumption report. The steps for archiving apply to both reports.
- Adjust the Reporting period using the date selectors as needed.
- All licenses are selected by default. To choose specific licenses, click the Edit icon next to the selection field and make your changes.
- Click Download the IBM audit report. This action creates a zip file that includes the relevant reports named with the report’s title, date, and time.
- Extract the downloaded report from the zip file. Save the extracted report in a secure and reliable location for at least two years to meet IBM’s audit requirements.
IMPORTANT: The default data retention period for FlexNet Manager Suite and Flexera One ITAM is 180 days. Saving and archiving reports during each reporting period ensures compliance with IBM’s mandate to maintain PVU and VPC license consumption data for two years.
