VDI templates appear in Virtual Desktop Templates only when assigned through restricted delivery groups

A VDI template appears in the Virtual Desktop Templates view only when it is assigned to users or groups through a delivery group with a restricted access policy.

A template appears in the view when it:

• belongs to a delivery group with access restricted to specific users or groups
• has users assigned through that delivery group

A template does not appear in the view when:

• the delivery group allows access to any authenticated users
• no users are assigned through the delivery group

This behavior ensures that the view focuses on templates assigned to specific users or groups for software access tracking.

Verify the delivery group configuration

1. Identify the delivery group associated with the template.
2. Review the delivery group's access policy.
3. Confirm whether access is restricted to specific users or groups.
4. Confirm whether users are assigned through the delivery group.

You can also use the Get-BrokerAccessPolicyRule cmdlet in the Citrix DaaS Remote PowerShell SDK to review the access policy. Flexera uses this method when collecting XenDesktop inventory.

If the delivery group allows any authenticated users, or if no users are assigned through the delivery group, the template does not appear in the Virtual Desktop Templates view.

Deploying the Flexera Agent on a template or gold image can result in inventory appearing in All Inventory. You may also see the template in NDI broker files or as a machine catalog entry in Citrix Studio.

These sources do not determine whether the template appears in the Virtual Desktop Templates view. The delivery group's access policy and user assignments determine whether the template is included.
