PVU Limit explained
The PVU Limit is a setting on IBM Processor Value Unit (PVU) and IBM Virtual Processor Core (VPC) licenses that limits the maximum number of PVUs each virtual instance can consume.
What the PVU limit is
The PVU Limit defines the maximum number of PVU entitlements each virtual instance can consume. This control is available only on IBM PVU licenses when the setting Eligible for use with cloud service providers is enabled. This setting can be found on the Use rights and rules tab of an IBM PVU license. By default, the PVU Limit is disabled and set to 0.
How changes are tracked
When you enable Eligible for use with cloud service providers, the system records the PVU limit in the license history. Any later updates to the PVU limit value also appear in the History tab, providing an audit trail of changes.
PVU Limit and IBM VPC licenses
- The PVU Limit value appears in the license history.
- The PVU Limit is always disabled and set to 0.
