Perform a sequence number reset for a full Data Update Job

The Data Update Job (DUJ) processes incremental data to prevent repeating the same actions.

A common troubleshooting step is to reset the SequenceNumber and RowVersion columns, which control incremental processing. This allows the next DUJ to perform a full data update.

CAUTION: Running a full DUJ can significantly increase execution time. It is recommended to schedule this over a weekend to avoid impacting business hours, though it can be run during the week if you can accommodate the longer runtime.

To move data from SnowInventory to SnowLicenseManager, perform a full DUJ by running the following command in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio:

UPDATE SnowLicenseManager.dbo.tblInventoryDatabase

SET NewSequenceNumber = 0, NewRowVersion = 0x0;

By resetting the “new” values in the above table, the next DUJ will transfer the current NewSequenceNumber to OldSequenceNumber and update NewSequenceNumber with the highest value from the SnowInventory database.

The DUJ takes all SequenceNumber and RowVersion values into account, ensuring it retrieves all data from the SnowInventory database and attempts to repopulate it in the SnowLicenseManager database.
