How to export a .snowpack from the Snow Inventory Configuration Manager.
From Snow Inventory Service (SIS) version 6.4.0 it has been possible to export 1 or more .snowpack files using the Snow Inventory Configuration Manager.
Before you start please note:
- This process will not impact the processing of new/incoming .snowpack files.
- To follow the process you will need to have:
- The name of the SQL server and if applicable the instance name as well
- The Username and Password that is used in the Snow Inventory connection string.
- The name or range of names wanting to be collected.
- Exporting the target systems does not remove them from Snow Inventory, It is a copy, not a removal
- When adding history to a snowpack it will only contain the history in Snow Inventory, not anything in Snow License Manager
- IMPORTANT: These .snowpacks or .inv files are not the same as those created by the Agent. It will be missing data like Cloud Metering information, software that was not properly collected, custom collected information, etc...
Steps
