How To: Perform an Offline Update using Snow Update Service (SUS)

Step 1 - Export a product manifest file
- Open the Snow Update Service client.
- Click "Change settings" in the left menu.
- Select the checkbox "Use offline mode" and click "Save"
- In the left menu, click "Export product manifest"
- Click "Export" and choose a location to save the product manifest file
Step 2 option - Product update process
- Navigate to https://updatesportal.snowsoftware.com/software.
- Enter an email address (for the resulting package to be sent to) and import a product manifest file from the steps above (Please note that the manifest is valid for 72 hours only).
- After a few minutes, a download link will appear, for your update package to download.
- In Snow Update Service, click on "Install offline update" and select the file that you downloaded.
Step 2 option - Software Recognition Service (SRS) update process
- Navigate to https://updatesportal.snowsoftware.com/srs.
- Enter an email address (for the resulting package to be sent to) and the SRS license key (this can be found in SUS and the Web Configurator).
- Request package.
Troubleshooting
When following the "Export a product manifest file" instructions, if the "Export product manifest" link is not present you will need to manually update your client. To do this:
- Download the client as a zip file from here.
- Stop the SnowUpdate windows service, the client app and the tray notification app.
- Overwrite your local sus installation with the files in the zip file.
- Then follow the instructions to export a manifest from the client above.
