Perform an Offline Update using Snow Update Service (SUS)
This article explains how to perform an offline update of Snow solution components using Snow Update Service (SUS).
1. Export a product manifest file
- Open the Snow Update Service client.
- Select Change settings from the left menu.
- Select Use offline mode, and then select Save.
- Select Export product manifest from the left menu.
- Select Export, and choose a location to save the product manifest file.
2. Request and install the product update
- Go to https://updatesportal.snowsoftware.com/software.
- Enter an email address where the resulting package should be sent, and import the product manifest file created in the previous section. The manifest is valid for 72 hours only.
- After a few minutes, a download link for the update package appears. Download the update package.
- In Snow Update Service, select Install offline update, and then select the file you downloaded.
3. Request a Software Recognition Service (SRS) update
- Go to https://updatesportal.snowsoftware.com/srs.
- Enter an email address where the resulting package should be sent and the SRS license key. The SRS license key can be found in SUS and the Web Configurator.
- Select Request package.
Troubleshooting
If Export product manifest is not available when following the steps to export a product manifest file, manually update the Snow Update Service client:
- Download the client as a ZIP file from https://updatesportal.snowsoftware.com/download/sus.
- Stop the SnowUpdate Windows service, the client application, and the tray notification application.
- Overwrite the local SUS installation with the files from the ZIP file.
- Follow the previous instructions to export a product manifest from the client.
