Snow Inventory Agent/Client for Linux - GPG/PGP Signing of Linux / Unix packages or ‘Public key for *name of agent*.rpm is not installed’
Issue
When installing Linux/Unix agent packages if GPG checking is enforced, you will receive a similar error below when trying to install without the public key:‘Public key for *name of agent*.rpm is not installed’
Environment
Snow Inventory Agent/Client on Unix / Linux
Resolution
All of our agents are signed automatically. However, for your Linux based package manager to recognize and validate the signature, you will need to add the public key attached to your servers to then be able to successfully install the agent.
We sign the package with our private key, so that anyone with the public key can verify that the package is signed by Snow and has not been modified. It is a way of demonstrating the authenticity of the downloaded package.
Attached is the public key you will need to successfully install the agent on your environment with this encryption.
